All parents have some level of concern about sending their children to a foreign land thousands of miles from home. This academy offers a full immersion experience in Lynchburg, Virginia, at a more affordable price than the average student trip abroad.
The academy also immerses students even more than most trips abroad – English is not spoken at the academy, while often on trips, tour guides will speak in English to accommodate less fluent students.
Our maximum class size is 15, so students can participate more and get individualized attention from talented, professional instructors who are near-native or native speakers.
This experience is ideal for students who want to significantly advance their Spanish language skills, study abroad in college, or just come back the next school year prepared and excited to learn.
In addition, the academy is uniquely designed so that students may attend four years in a row and not repeat the same material. Each year will be another dynamic experience.
Martí wants to put students further down the path of fluency. The level of fluency a student gains ultimately depends on the individual student. While at Martí, the student must be willing to let go of English and start thinking in Spanish. If the student follows what we teach, the student’s fluency improves dramatically.
Our overall goal is to help students synthesize the grammar and vocabulary they have learned and enable them to speak more fluently. By the time a student leaves Martí s/he should be able to think and speak in Spanish without much hesitation. Although everyone is nervous at first, we are there to help your student succeed!
